Job Details

• Position: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)
• Employment Type: Travel Nurse Assignment
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,350 - $2,470
• Start Date: 10/05/2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift Duration: 8-hour day shifts
• Schedule: Monday through Friday with call and late days as needed
• Orientation: 40 hours
• Location: Abilene, TX
• Charting System: Allscripts experience preferred
• Patient Population: Adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics

Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand required at time of submission
• Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room experience required
• Experience with neuro/spine, ortho/trauma, and general/robotics/trauma surgical cases
• Craniotomy and burr hole experience required
• ACLS, BLS, CNOR, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC credentials preferred or required per facility standards
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Ability to complete required labs within 72 hours of accepting an offer
• Must be prepared for onsite drug screening upon arrival
• Flu vaccine required, with medical or religious exemptions only

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care in the Operating Room across multiple surgical specialties
• Support neuro/spine, orthopedic trauma, and general/robotic trauma procedures
• Assist with advanced surgical cases, including craniotomy and burr hole procedures
• Maintain sterile technique and promote patient safety throughout the surgical continuum
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Participate in call coverage, late days, and occasional floating to another campus or acceptable unit as needed
• Deliver compassionate care to patients of all ages while supporting efficient operating room workflow
