• Duration: 15 weeks
• Weekly Schedule: 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation
• Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts (1845-0715)
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910-$2,010
• Orientation: Unit-specific orientation provided
• EMR / Unit Tools: Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vacs, chest tubes

Registered Nurse Requirements

• 2+ years of nursing experience in med-surg, step-down, telemetry, or a related acute care setting
• Active Hawaii RN license required by the start date
• BLS and ACLS required
• Ability to work night shifts and adapt to a fast-paced cardiac stepdown environment
• Preferred certifications include PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, and ENPC
• Experience with medical-surgical and cardiovascular patient care strongly preferred
• Must be able to float to related medical and surgical units as needed
• Professional nursing attire and clean scrubs required

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care to adult cardiac stepdown and med-surg patients
• Monitor patient conditions, respond to changes, and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team
• Support patients requiring wound care, chest tube management, and other common acute care interventions
• Administer medications and maintain accurate clinical documentation using Meditech EMR
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and support teams to promote positive patient outcomes
• Float between designated medical and surgical units, including the Medical Unit, Laulima Unit, and occasionally the Cardiovascular Unit
• Deliver high-quality patient care while maintaining workflow efficiency and patient safety standards
• Adapt quickly to unit needs, staffing ratios, and occasional scheduling adjustments
