- Duration: 15 weeks
- Weekly Schedule: 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation
- Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts (1845-0715)
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910-$2,010
- Orientation: Unit-specific orientation provided
- EMR / Unit Tools: Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vacs, chest tubes
Registered Nurse Requirements
- 2+ years of nursing experience in med-surg, step-down, telemetry, or a related acute care setting
- Active Hawaii RN license required by the start date
- BLS and ACLS required
- Ability to work night shifts and adapt to a fast-paced cardiac stepdown environment
- Preferred certifications include PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, and ENPC
- Experience with medical-surgical and cardiovascular patient care strongly preferred
- Must be able to float to related medical and surgical units as needed
- Professional nursing attire and clean scrubs required
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate care to adult cardiac stepdown and med-surg patients
- Monitor patient conditions, respond to changes, and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team
- Support patients requiring wound care, chest tube management, and other common acute care interventions
- Administer medications and maintain accurate clinical documentation using Meditech EMR
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and support teams to promote positive patient outcomes
- Float between designated medical and surgical units, including the Medical Unit, Laulima Unit, and occasionally the Cardiovascular Unit
- Deliver high-quality patient care while maintaining workflow efficiency and patient safety standards
- Adapt quickly to unit needs, staffing ratios, and occasional scheduling adjustments
