Travel to Olympia, WA for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse opportunity in a short-term acute care hospital. Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; compact license must be in hand at submission if applicable
  • At least 1 year of recent progressive care, step-down, telemetry, med-surg, or acute care nursing experience required
  • 2 years of nursing experience preferred
  • Previous charge nurse experience required
  • Experience with patient ratios of 1:4-6
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Strong U.S. clinical experience required
  • Ability to work in a float RN role and adapt to changing patient needs
  • Comfortable caring for telemetry, med-surg, ED boarded, and step-down level patients
  • Must be able to commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality bedside care to adult and geriatric patients across multiple inpatient units
  • Monitor telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
  • Deliver progressive care and step-down nursing support based on unit acuity and patient needs
  • Perform charge nurse duties on smaller units when assigned, including staffing coordination, bed flow, and team support
  • Float between hospital units as needed to support patient care and clinical coverage
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, IV teams, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response resources
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic electronic health records
  • Follow isolation precautions, safe patient handling practices, and unit protocols
  • Support patient-centered care in a fast-paced, team-oriented healthcare environment
