Overview

This PCU Registered Nurse job is ideal for an experienced RN who thrives in progressive care, cardiac stepdown, and telemetry nursing. You will work night shifts in a well-supported unit while caring for higher-acuity patients and contributing to excellent patient outcomes in a fast-paced hospital setting.

• Float Requirement: Yes, to like units within scope as needed

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license, or compact/NM license eligible prior to start
• Minimum 1 year of PCU, stepdown, telemetry, or cardiac nursing experience required; 2 years preferred
• Cardiovascular nursing experience required
• BLS and ACLS required
• NIHSS required
• Strong experience with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Comfortable working with a 1:4-5 patient ratio
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced acute care environment
• Strong collaboration and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown and progressive care patients
• Monitor telemetry and assess for changes in patient condition
• Manage cardiac drips, oxygen therapy, and non-invasive respiratory support as appropriate
• Perform thorough assessments, documentation, and ongoing reassessments in Epic
• Support patients recovering from cardiac-related conditions and procedures
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate safe, effective care
• Float to similar units within scope when needed
• Maintain a professional, patient-centered approach in a busy hospital environment
