Join a supportive women’s services team in Charlotte’s desirable South Charlotte area. This 13-week travel Registered Nurse (RN) assignment is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mother/Baby RN, Postpartum RN, or Labor & Delivery RN who enjoys compassionate care for postpartum patients, newborns, and LDRP populations in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.
Overview
This travel nursing job is ideal for an RN who thrives in Mother/Baby, couplet care, and LDRP environments and is confident supporting both maternal and neonatal care. You’ll work closely with a multidisciplinary healthcare team while delivering safe, high-quality care across labor and delivery, postpartum recovery, newborn assessment, and stabilization needs.

- Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Shifts Per Week: 3 shifts per week
- Orientation: 24 hours of unit orientation plus hospital orientation
- Weekend Requirement: Weekend coverage required
- Call: May be required if census is low
- Float: Occasional floating may be required
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,920 - $2,020
- Location: Charlotte, NC 28277
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- Experience in Mother/Baby and Labor & Delivery required
- Couplet care and LDRP experience strongly preferred and highly valued
- Comfort with labor support, postpartum care, and newborn care
- Experience circulating for C-sections and recovering patients in PACU
- Proficiency with Epic charting system
- Required certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate
- Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced
- Strong fetal monitoring, IV therapy, and patient education skills
- Ability to work in a low-risk LDRP environment while remaining flexible to changing patient needs
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality care for postpartum mothers, newborns, and labor patients
- Support couplet care, newborn assessments, and postpartum recovery
- Assist with labor management, fetal monitoring, and triage of obstetrical patients
- Circulate for C-sections and recover patients following surgical deliveries
- Assist as a baby nurse, including stabilization and newborn transition support when needed
- Educate patients and families on breastfeeding, newborn care, discharge instructions, and postpartum recovery
- Administer medications and manage IV therapies as appropriate
- Collaborate with the care team to promote safe, efficient, patient-centered outcomes
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow unit protocols and best practices
