Travel Nursing Job Details

• Position: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)
• Assignment Type: Travel Nurse Job
• Duration: 26 weeks
• Start Date: 10/12/2026
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,470 - $2,600
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts
• Schedule: Primarily evening/night coverage with some mid shifts as needed; every other weekend and holiday flexibility required
• Setting: Emergency Department / Critical Access Hospital
• Location: Middlebury, Vermont
• Patient Population: Newborn through geriatric
• Charting System: Epic
• Medication System: Pyxis
• Floating: Not required

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license
• Minimum of 2 years of recent emergency department nursing experience required
• At least 1 completed travel nurse assignment required
• Previous Epic experience within the last 2 years required
• AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
• ENPC and TNCC required
• NIHSS required prior to start
• NRP required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Comfort working in a rural or critical access emergency department preferred
• Ability to remain flexible with scheduling and holiday coverage

Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, efficient emergency nursing care to patients across the lifespan
• Perform ESI triage, IV insertion, drips and infusions, EKGs, restraint application, procedural sedation, and patient transport support as needed
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, charge nurses, and ancillary staff to support quality patient care
• Monitor and respond to a wide range of emergency presentations in a 10-14 bed unit
• Support transfers and ambulance transport for higher-acuity patients when needed
• Use sound clinical judgment in a fast-moving emergency department with occasional mid-shift coverage needs
• Help orient and precept newer nurses when appropriate
• Deliver compassionate care while maintaining patient flow and safety standards
