• Float Requirement: No floating required; preference for candidates comfortable supporting Med-Surg if needed
• Schedule Notes: Flexibility needed for weekends and holidays

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of emergency department or emergency room nursing experience
• At least 1 completed travel nursing assignment
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, ENPC, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications
• TNCC must be submitted with the packet or proof of class registration with date applied
• Recent Epic experience within the past 2 years required
• Charge nurse experience strongly preferred
• Experience in a rural hospital, critical access hospital, or small-town emergency department preferred
• Comfort with precepting new nurses and supporting patient transport when needed
• Reliable transportation required due to limited public transit access in Middlebury, VT

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
• Perform triage using the ESI scale and prioritize care appropriately in a busy ER setting
• Start IVs, manage drips and infusions, and perform EKGs
• Assist with procedural sedation, restraint application, and patient transports
• Stabilize and support emergency patients with a calm, team-oriented approach
• Collaborate with providers, charge nurses, techs, and ancillary staff to maintain smooth patient flow
• Support ambulance transfers for higher levels of care when needed
• Document accurately in Epic and follow unit protocols and safety standards
• Help create a positive patient experience in a busy 10-14 bed emergency department
