  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,840 - $1,940
  • Duration: 13 weeks
  • Start Date: 10/5/2026
  • Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
  • Shifts Per Week: 3
  • Schedule: Full-time, every other weekend required
  • Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
  • Charting System: Epic
  • Orientation: Bi-weekly orientation with 36 total hours

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, including telemetry or cardiac stepdown experience
  • Active North Carolina RN license or Compact RN license in hand
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • 1 supervisory reference from the last year required
  • Strong clinical judgment and experience caring for cardiac stepdown or telemetry patients
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and one major holiday as scheduled
  • Must be comfortable with a patient ratio of 1:4 to 1:5

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality bedside care as a Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse in a travel healthcare setting
  • Monitor telemetry, assess changes in condition, and respond quickly to patient status updates
  • Administer medications and therapies according to established cardiac and nursing protocols
  • Collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, and other interdisciplinary care teams
  • Manage central lines, ports, chest tubes, oxygen delivery devices, and other common stepdown therapies as appropriate
  • Document accurately in Epic and maintain clear, timely communication with the care team
  • Support safe patient flow, teamwork, and a positive experience for patients and families
  • Contribute to a dependable, patient-centered unit environment on every shift
