Job Details

• Position: PACU Registered Nurse
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: ASAP
• Schedule: 5 shifts per week, 8-hour day shifts
• Weekly Hours: 40 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,750-$1,840
• Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
• Location: San Marcos, Texas
• Patient Mix: General, ortho, urology, ENT, cath lab, endoscopy, gynecology, and pediatrics
• Setting Highlights: Busy perioperative environment with broad surgical recovery experience

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related nursing specialty
• Critical care, PreOp, and EPIC experience strongly preferred
• Current RN license in Texas or compact state eligibility
• Current BLS certification (AHA only)
• Current ACLS certification (AHA only)
• Current PALS certification (AHA only)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Experience in a perioperative, OR, or post-operative recovery setting preferred
• Ability to complete new nurse orientation and required competency validation

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality post-anesthesia recovery care for PACU patients
• Perform comprehensive assessments, develop care plans, and evaluate patient responses
• Administer medications and treatments using established clinical protocols
• Monitor for side effects, complications, and treatment effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, interventions, and nursing care provided
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on recovery needs and next steps
• Support patients across a wide range of surgical specialties and acuity levels
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesiologists, and perioperative care teams to ensure safe, compassionate recovery care
