Job Requirements
- Active Washington State RN license
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Experience as an acute care registered nurse preferred; minimum one year of RN experience preferred for specialty nursing departments
- Current BLS certification through AHA or equivalent within 30 days of hire
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring required within the specified timeframe
- NRP Advanced required for applicable mother-baby and newborn care responsibilities
- ACLS required within 6 months of hire
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and crisis management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity, patient-focused maternity care environment
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring, postpartum, and mother-baby patients
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process
- Monitor maternal and fetal status and respond appropriately to changes in condition
- Collaborate with physicians, clinicians, and support staff to promote safe patient outcomes
- Document patient care accurately in accordance with policies and regulatory standards
- Educate patients and families on care plans, procedures, recovery expectations, and newborn care
- Support charge nurse or delegated unit duties as needed in the birthing unit
- Maintain a professional, team-oriented approach in a dynamic Labor & Delivery setting
