The unit manages cardiac, diabetes, CHF, COPD, renal, general surgery, and orthopedic cases, making this a great fit for nurses who enjoy fast-paced acute care and telemetry nursing.

- Location: Jacksonville, NC
- Assignment Type: Travel Nurse Job
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,750 - $1,840
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Shifts Per Week: 3
- Schedule: Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Weekend/Holiday Coverage: Required
- Float Requirement: As needed to similar acuity or lower
- Patient Ratio: 1:6
- Charting System: Meditech preferred
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg Telemetry or related acute care RN experience
- Active Registered Nurse license
- ACLS and BLS required
- CPI required
- Experience with insulin drips, heparin protocols, and Lasix drips
- Ability to care for adult medical-surgical telemetry patients with diverse diagnoses
- Strong communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
- Travel nursing experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate, and high-quality nursing care to adult Med/Surg Tele patients
- Monitor telemetry patients and respond appropriately to changes in condition
- Administer and titrate medications, including insulin, heparin, and Lasix drips per protocol
- Care for patients with cardiac, diabetes, CHF, COPD, renal, surgical, and orthopedic needs
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record
- Collaborate with RN, LPN, PCT, CNA, and unit secretary team members to support patient care
- Maintain flexibility to float to similar acuity areas when needed
- Deliver patient-centered care in a fast-paced acute care hospital environment
