- Setting: Medical-Surgical / Acute Care Hospital
- Location: Lubbock, TX 79410
- Schedule: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (07:00–19:00)
- Shift Duration: 12 hours
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: October 5, 2026
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:5
- Weekend Coverage: Required
- Float Requirement: May float between acute care / Med-Surg areas
- Charting System: Epic EMR
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,680 - $1,770
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) nursing experience required
- Experience with a 1:5 patient ratio preferred
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Epic charting experience required
- Comfortable caring for adult and geriatric patients
- Ability to work in a fast-paced acute care and hospital setting
- Strong communication, teamwork, and adaptability skills
- First-time travel nurses welcome
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality bedside nursing care to Med/Surg patients with a focus on safety, compassion, and patient-centered care
- Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions accurately in Epic EMR
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions according to established care plans
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to support patient recovery
- Respond to changing patient needs in a busy acute care environment
- Support post-op, surgical, trauma, and overflow Med/Surg patient populations
- Float as needed within acute care / Med-Surg areas based on unit needs
- Maintain a professional, adaptable approach throughout the travel nursing assignment
