Job Details
- Position: NICU Registered Nurse - Travel Contract
- Location: Newark, NJ 07112
- Employment Type: Travel RN
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week; every other weekend required
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,360-$2,480
- Start Date: 10/5/2026
- Charting System: Epic experience required
- Float Expectations: May float within skill set to NBN, Pediatrics, and PICU as appropriate
- Unit Focus: Level III NICU care
Job Requirements
- Active NJ or compact RN license required at time of submission
- BLS and NRP required
- Minimum of 2 years of NICU nursing experience required
- Level III NICU experience strongly preferred
- Strong experience with neonatal care for infants 29-34 weeks and greater than 34 weeks
- Experience with ventilated or intubated patients and respiratory support such as HFNC
- Skilled in medication management, neonatal dosage calculations, IV starts, blood product administration, and phlebotomy
- Comfortable with breastfeeding support, enteral feedings, glucose monitoring, phototherapy, and infection prevention practices
- Ability to adapt to changing patient acuity and support safe floating within skill set

Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to neonatal patients in a Level III NICU
- Monitor and manage infants requiring respiratory support, telemetry, and complex medication regimens
- Support developmental care, family education, and breastfeeding/feeding needs
- Perform routine NICU clinical tasks including IV management, blood draws, glucose checks, and phototherapy support
- Recognize changes in patient condition and escalate concerns promptly
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to support optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow unit standards for safety, infection control, and patient care
- Float as needed within approved areas and provide care consistent with skill level and assignment
