Job Details

• Position: NICU Registered Nurse - Travel Contract
• Location: Newark, NJ 07112
• Employment Type: Travel RN
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week; every other weekend required
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,360-$2,480
• Start Date: 10/5/2026
• Charting System: Epic experience required
• Float Expectations: May float within skill set to NBN, Pediatrics, and PICU as appropriate
• Unit Focus: Level III NICU care

Job Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license required at time of submission
• BLS and NRP required
• Minimum of 2 years of NICU nursing experience required
• Level III NICU experience strongly preferred
• Strong experience with neonatal care for infants 29-34 weeks and greater than 34 weeks
• Experience with ventilated or intubated patients and respiratory support such as HFNC
• Skilled in medication management, neonatal dosage calculations, IV starts, blood product administration, and phlebotomy
• Comfortable with breastfeeding support, enteral feedings, glucose monitoring, phototherapy, and infection prevention practices
• Ability to adapt to changing patient acuity and support safe floating within skill set

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to neonatal patients in a Level III NICU
• Monitor and manage infants requiring respiratory support, telemetry, and complex medication regimens
• Support developmental care, family education, and breastfeeding/feeding needs
• Perform routine NICU clinical tasks including IV management, blood draws, glucose checks, and phototherapy support
• Recognize changes in patient condition and escalate concerns promptly
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to support optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow unit standards for safety, infection control, and patient care
• Float as needed within approved areas and provide care consistent with skill level and assignment
