Job Details

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week
• Shift Duration: 12 hours
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
• Duration: 20 weeks
• Start Date: October 5, 2026
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,920 - $2,020
• Setting: Labor & Delivery / Delivery Room / Women’s Services
• Location: Charlotte, NC 28204
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, with 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
• Float Requirement: May be required within the women’s services area
• Call Requirement: None

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or a compact state; pending license may be considered
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience preferred in a high-volume hospital setting
• Experience with more than 300 births per month strongly preferred
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-acuity obstetric environment
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate or C-EFM in lieu of AWHONN
• Experience with circulating for C-sections, sterile vaginal exams, labor triage, and immediate newborn care
• Epic charting experience required
• Must be open to floating within the women’s unit as needed
• COVID-19 vaccine not required; flu vaccine required unless exempt

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care to obstetrical patients across labor, delivery, antepartum, and postpartum phases
• Monitor and support patients during triage, labor progression, and delivery
• Assist with scheduled and unscheduled C-sections and related obstetrical procedures
• Perform sterile vaginal exams, pain assessment, and clinical interventions as appropriate
• Support high-risk maternal and newborn care in a busy, team-oriented women’s services unit
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to ensure excellent patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow established unit protocols
• Adapt quickly to changing patient needs in a high-volume Labor & Delivery environment
