CVICU Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Assignment – Vibrant New Brunswick, New Jersey

Experienced CVICU Registered Nurse needed for a 13-week travel nursing assignment in New Brunswick, NJ. Join a high-acuity Cardiovascular ICU team providing advanced cardiac care to post-op and critically ill patients in a fast-paced critical care environment.

• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Schedule: Every other weekend required; holiday coverage per unit needs
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,470 - $2,600
• Charting System: Epic experience required
• Orientation: 16 hours
• Floating: Must float within skillset to other ICU and cardiac critical care areas as needed
• Scrub Color: Navy blue

Job Requirements

• Active NJ RN license or compact RN license at time of submission
• Minimum of 2 years of recent CVICU nursing experience required
• SICU experience may be considered with initial CVICU training
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Strong experience with fresh post-op cardiac cases, including CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR
• Experience with Impella, IABP, and CRRT using PrisMax preferred/required for consideration
• Comfortable caring for high-acuity adult and geriatric cardiac patients
• Ability to work in a fast-paced critical care setting and float within skillset
• Strong documentation skills in Epic

Responsibilities

• Provide expert nursing care to cardiovascular ICU patients recovering from complex cardiac procedures
• Monitor and manage ventilated patients, invasive lines, and hemodynamic support devices
• Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, sedation, paralytics, and IV insulin protocols
• Support post-op open heart recovery, including CABG, valve repair/replacement, and TAVR cases
• Assist with chest tube management, ABGs, dysrhythmia interpretation, and 12-lead EKGs
• Care for patients requiring CRRT/CVVHD, temporary pacing, hypothermia protocols, and advanced cardiac support equipment
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, high-quality critical care
• Maintain infection prevention, isolation precautions, and best-practice patient safety standards
