• Position: Surgical ICU Registered Nurse (RN)
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Job
• Location: Columbus, Ohio
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
• Shifts Per Week: 3
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940 - $2,040
• Weekend Coverage: Required
• Floating: Required within the organization as needed
• Call: Required
• Charting System: Epic preferred
• Setting: Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric critical care patients

Job Requirements

• 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Active Ohio RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Experience in SICU, Trauma ICU, Burn ICU, or Transplant ICU preferred
• Comfort with high-acuity critical care, fast-paced decision-making, and changing patient conditions
• Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill surgical, trauma, and ICU patients
• Manage invasive monitoring, ventilator support, and advanced critical care therapies
• Administer and titrate vasoactive medications and continuous infusions as ordered
• Support patients requiring CRRT, tracheostomy care, PEG care, and bronchoscopy-related assistance
• Perform and assist with chest tube management, central line care, arterial line monitoring, and blood product administration
• Monitor neurological status, hemodynamic trends, and respiratory status closely
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology, and other support teams
• Document care accurately in Epic and communicate effectively using SBAR
• Maintain patient safety, infection prevention, and ICU best practices in a fast-moving clinical environment
