Travel RN opportunity in Burlington, Massachusetts, just north of Boston. Join a busy Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Nursing Float Pool team for 12-hour night shifts in a fast-paced acute care environment.
Job Details
- Position: Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Employment Type: Travel Nurse / Travel RN
- Location: Burlington, MA (Boston metro area)
- Start Date: 10/05/2026
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours biweekly
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,470-$2,600
- Unit Setting: Progressive Care Unit / Nursing Float Pool
- Floating: May float in 4-hour blocks to ED holds, inpatient holds, PACU, and other boarding units
- Additional Notes: Day-one pass/fail testing required; weekly start dates available
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- At least 1 year of recent acute care or progressive care experience required
- Ability to titrate pressors required
- BLS through AHA required
- ACLS through AHA preferred
- NIHSS preferred
- Epic experience required
- Level 1 trauma experience preferred; required if no prior travel nurse experience
- Comfort working in a fast-paced float pool and PCU nursing environment
- Ability to manage patient ratios between 1:3 and 1:5
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to progressive care patients and boarding patients across multiple units
- Safely titrate vasoactive medications and monitor patients closely for changes in condition
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver efficient, patient-centered care
- Adapt quickly to changing assignments and support float pool staffing needs
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in Epic
- Respond effectively to patient acuity changes while maintaining safety and workflow standards
- Contribute to a supportive, team-oriented environment focused on quality outcomes
