Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) - 13-Week Contract in Boston, MA

Join a high-acuity operating room team in Boston, MA and bring your perioperative nursing experience to a fast-paced surgical environment. This 13-week OR Registered Nurse assignment offers the opportunity to support a collaborative surgical services team with a diverse mix of cases, including orthopedics, total joints, gynecology, general surgery, urology, robotics, oncology, ophthalmology, ENT, plastics, and interventional pulmonology. Located in Boston’s renowned medical district, this assignment offers strong transit access, a vibrant city setting, and convenient neighborhood amenities.

Job Details

• Position: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)
• Setting: Acute care surgical environment / perioperative services
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: ASAP, pending compliance
• Shift: 10-hour evening shift
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $3,000 - $3,160
• Orientation: First week orientation, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
• Call Requirements: Up to 4 call shifts per month, including weekends and holidays
• Opening: 2 positions available

Job Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license required at submission
• Current BLS certification required
• At least 1 year of recent OR nursing experience required
• Strong scrub experience required
• Strong orthopedic and total joints experience required
• Previous experience in a teaching hospital and/or specialty surgical setting preferred
• Ability to work evening hours and participate in call coverage

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care in the operating room
• Support a wide variety of surgical procedures across multiple specialties
• Scrub and circulate as needed based on case assignment
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiology, and surgical support staff
• Prepare patients and the OR environment for procedures while maintaining sterile technique
• Participate in call coverage, including occasional weekends and holidays
• Deliver patient-centered care with attention to safety, efficiency, and teamwork
