- Position: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
- Setting: Emergency Department / Emergency Room
- Location: Tacoma, WA
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Contract Length: 14 weeks
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,020-$2,130
- Orientation: General hospital orientation with unit onboarding to support a confident start
- Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
- Call: Not required
- Floating: No floating required
Job Requirements
- 2+ years of emergency department nursing experience required
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC, and MOAB 12 or CPI
- Experience caring for a broad range of ED patients, including general complaints, chest pain, shortness of breath, abdominal pain, behavioral health, geriatrics, and occasional pediatric cases
- Strong teamwork, communication, organization, and time management skills
- EPIC charting experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers are not accepted
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled, compassionate emergency nursing care in a high-volume Emergency Department
- Perform thorough patient assessments, prioritize care, and respond quickly to changing patient conditions
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and emergency treatments according to clinical protocols and provider orders
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, nursing support, and other healthcare team members to coordinate patient care
- Maintain accurate documentation and support efficient patient flow using the EPIC electronic health record system
- Deliver care while working safely and effectively within established patient ratios and departmental workflows
- Support a positive team environment while adapting to the pace and needs of a busy emergency room
