• Setting: Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
• Schedule: 12-hour day shifts
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,020-$2,130
• Weekend Requirement: 4 shifts every 4 weeks
• Orientation: 2 days
• Floating: Required, with float opportunities to pediatrics, labor and delivery for baby care, and postpartum newborn rounds as needed
• Documentation: Sunrise Clinical Systems
• Medication System: Pyxis

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience
• Minimum 2 years of specialty experience, including at least 1 year in a Level III NICU
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• Strong IV skills and experience maintaining IV fluids
• Knowledge of ventilator care, central lines, and neonatal equipment
• Ability to provide family-centered education and support to parents
• Prior travel RN experience preferred, especially in larger hospital systems
• Comfort working in a collaborative, fast-paced neonatal environment

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill newborns in a Level III NICU
• Monitor infants and respond appropriately to changes in clinical condition
• Manage IV therapy, maintenance fluids, and neonatal lines as needed
• Support ventilator care and collaborate with respiratory therapy and the neonatal care team
• Care for and maintain UACs, UVCs, PICCs, midlines, and chest tubes as indicated
• Educate and support parents with a strong family-centered care approach
• Assist with breastfeeding support and newborn family teaching
• Float as needed to approved pediatric and postpartum areas supporting newborn care
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow established unit protocols
• Contribute to a supportive team environment focused on safety, compassion, and excellent outcomes
