Job Details
- Specialty: SICU Registered Nurse (Surgical Intensive Care Unit RN)
- Employment Type: Travel Nurse Assignment
- Setting: 38-bed ICU within a Level II Trauma Center
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: October 13, 2026
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,820 - $1,910
- Charting System: Epic preferred
- Orientation: 8 hours
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Floating: May float within scope to stepdown or other units based on facility needs
Job Requirements
- Active Virginia RN license or compact RN license
- Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU or SICU nursing experience
- Community hospital experience required
- Experience with Level II Trauma patients required
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Strong experience managing dysrhythmias, arterial lines, ventilated patients, and blood product administration
- Experience with CRRT/CVVHD, vasoactive drips, and critical care monitoring preferred
- Ability to adapt to variable acuity and float assignments as needed
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality critical care nursing to complex surgical, trauma, and critically ill patients
- Monitor and respond quickly to changes in patient condition in a fast-paced Surgical Intensive Care Unit
- Manage arterial lines, central lines, ventilators, blood products, and critical drips
- Support recovery for patients with conditions such as sepsis, GI bleed, open heart recovery, trauma, and multisystem organ failure
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and other interdisciplinary healthcare team members
- Perform assessments, interventions, and documentation with accuracy and attention to detail
- Maintain a safe, organized, and patient-focused environment while adapting to unit needs
