• Position: Travel PCU Registered Nurse
• Setting: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Step-Down Unit
• Location: Olathe, Kansas, Kansas City metro
• Employment Type: Travel RN
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts
• Shifts Per Week: 3
• Shift Duration: 12 hours
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: 10/11/2026
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 - $2,130
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: May float to ICU and other inpatient units as needed
• Orientation: Includes unit and system training, with Epic training provided

Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent Critical Care, ICU, or Emergency Department RN experience
• Active Kansas RN license or compact RN license
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH certification
• Strong critical thinking skills and comfort caring for higher-acuity progressive care patients
• Experience with BiPAP, chest tubes, PICC lines, and drawing labs
• Ability to work independently without a vascular access team and assist with consults and codes as needed
• Open-heart day 2 or day 3 experience with pacer wires preferred
• Prior float experience in hospital nursing preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to Progressive Care Unit patients with ratios of 3:1 or 4:1
• Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in patient condition with confidence and efficiency
• Manage patients requiring BiPAP, chest tubes, PICC lines, and other PCU-level interventions
• Draw labs and support coordinated care without relying on a vascular access team
• Call consults and participate in codes as appropriate
• Float to ICU and other inpatient units based on patient care needs
• Deliver compassionate, team-oriented care while maintaining strong clinical standards
