Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with PACU experience who enjoys working in a high-volume surgical recovery setting. This travel nursing role is ideal for a confident post-anesthesia care nurse who is comfortable with a broad range of procedures, pediatric patients, and call coverage. You will work with a collaborative peri-anesthesia team supporting patient care from pre-op through post-op recovery.

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift Duration: 8-hour day shifts
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, with call coverage required
• Call: Approximately 6–8 days per month, self-scheduled
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,120 - $2,230
• Patient Population: Adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
• Charting: Cerner preferred

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license required before start
• At least 2 years of PACU or peri-anesthesia nursing experience preferred
• Experience with pediatric patients required
• Critical care nursing experience strongly preferred
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH certifications required
• Travel nursing experience required
• Ability to work in a high-volume surgical recovery environment
• Comfort with a wide range of procedures and post-anesthesia care
• Pending license accepted with submission, but must be active prior to start
• Must be willing to work some holidays
• RTO must be submitted with application

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality recovery care for post-operative patients in the PACU
• Monitor and assess patients recovering from a variety of surgical procedures
• Support Pre-Op Holding as needed in a connected peri-anesthesia workflow
• Care for pediatric and adult patients recovering from procedures including orthopedics, neuro, general surgery, urology, dental, GYN, and ENT cases
• Manage patients with nerve blocks, chest tubes, central lines, intubations, and arterial lines
• Perform airway assessments, pain management, and post-anesthesia monitoring
• Assist with procedures and recovery for patients receiving sedation, MAC, spinal, and general anesthesia
• Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the care team to ensure smooth patient flow
• Float between Pre-Op and PACU as needed within the unit workflow
• Maintain accurate documentation and support excellent patient outcomes in a busy recovery setting
