Job Details

- Location: Alexandria, Virginia
- Shift: 12-hour day and night shifts (7:00 PM and 7:00 AM)
- Shift Duration: 12 Hour Days
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,830-$1,930
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: 1 major and 1 minor holiday per year
- Floating: First to float to MSICU, PCCU, and boarders as needed
- Setting: 16-bed ICU
- Patient Ratio: 1:2
- On-Site: Yes
- Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
- Epic Access: Required
Job Requirements
- Active RN license and current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum of 2 years of ICU or comparable critical care experience
- Ability to pass an ECG exam on day 2 (pass/fail)
- Experience managing high-acuity neuro and cardiac patients preferred
- Comfort titrating vasoactive drips and managing ventilated patients
- Strong charting, documentation, and workflow skills with Epic
- Ability to adapt quickly and provide excellent care in a team-oriented healthcare environment
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for ICU patients with complex neurological, respiratory, cardiac, and metabolic conditions
- Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in patient status in a fast-paced critical care setting
- Titrate drips including norepinephrine, epinephrine, vasopressin, phenylephrine, and dopamine per protocols
- Care for patients requiring mechanical ventilation, high-flow nasal cannula, and BiPAP/CPAP support
- Collaborate with respiratory therapy, clinical technicians, and the interdisciplinary care team to support safe patient outcomes
- Interpret and act on rhythm strips as required
- Float to MSICU, PCCU, and boarder assignments as needed
- Deliver patient-centered critical care with professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail
