Job Details

• Position: Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery
• Employment Type: Travel RN
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,470 - $2,600
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Shifts per Week: 3
• Schedule: Night shifts with weekend and holiday rotation
• On-Call: Yes, low census
• Float: May float to Post Partum if needed
• Orientation: Bi-weekly orientation; 24 orientation hours
• Location: Mooresville, NC 28117
• Setting: Labor & Delivery / Level 1 nursery environment

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Active NC RN license or compact RN license in hand
• AWHONN Intermediate required; AWHONN Advanced preferred
• NRP and BLS required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Experience caring for patients greater than 35 weeks gestation
• Strong experience with antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care
• Ability to work in a fast-paced obstetric nursing environment with patient ratios of 2:1 on days, nights, and weekends
• Experience with Cerner or Centricity-style charting preferred
• No first-time travelers

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care to laboring and postpartum patients
• Monitor fetal and maternal status throughout the labor process
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and recovery care
• Support scheduled inductions, cervical ripening, ECVs, and magnesium therapy
• Perform newborn assessments and support immediate neonatal care
• Manage common obstetric complications such as pre-eclampsia, GDM, GHTN, and oligohydramnios
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote excellent patient outcomes
• Float to Post Partum when needed and provide flexible team support
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow unit workflows and safety standards
• Deliver patient education and family support throughout the birth experience
