- Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Schedule: Every other weekend rotation; holidays worked in rotation; no call
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 - $2,130
- Start Date: 10/12/2026
- Orientation: First week on days, followed by scheduled 12-hour shifts
- Floating: May float between pediatric and adult behavioral health units as needed
Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maine
- BLS certification required
- At least 1 year of behavioral health nursing experience required
- Pediatric behavioral health experience preferred
- Strong de-escalation skills and experience with physical restraints
- Ability to administer medications, complete accurate clinical documentation, and facilitate patient groups
- Comfort working with both pediatric and adult psychiatric populations
- Willingness to learn and complete facility-based MOAB training during orientation
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, therapeutic psychiatric nursing care for patients ages 5 through adult
- Support voluntary and involuntary psychiatric admissions in a secure inpatient behavioral health setting
- Perform medication passes and maintain accurate nursing documentation
- Use de-escalation techniques to respond to patient behaviors and support unit safety
- Assist with physical restraints when clinically necessary and appropriate
- Lead or support patient groups and therapeutic activities
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team, including providers, psych techs, and support staff
- Float between pediatric and adult inpatient units based on patient census and unit needs
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented behavioral health environment focused on recovery, dignity, and patient support
