• Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Schedule: Every other weekend rotation; holidays worked in rotation; no call
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 - $2,130
• Start Date: 10/12/2026
• Orientation: First week on days, followed by scheduled 12-hour shifts
• Floating: May float between pediatric and adult behavioral health units as needed

Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maine
• BLS certification required
• At least 1 year of behavioral health nursing experience required
• Pediatric behavioral health experience preferred
• Strong de-escalation skills and experience with physical restraints
• Ability to administer medications, complete accurate clinical documentation, and facilitate patient groups
• Comfort working with both pediatric and adult psychiatric populations
• Willingness to learn and complete facility-based MOAB training during orientation

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, therapeutic psychiatric nursing care for patients ages 5 through adult
• Support voluntary and involuntary psychiatric admissions in a secure inpatient behavioral health setting
• Perform medication passes and maintain accurate nursing documentation
• Use de-escalation techniques to respond to patient behaviors and support unit safety
• Assist with physical restraints when clinically necessary and appropriate
• Lead or support patient groups and therapeutic activities
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team, including providers, psych techs, and support staff
• Float between pediatric and adult inpatient units based on patient census and unit needs
• Contribute to a positive, team-oriented behavioral health environment focused on recovery, dignity, and patient support
