Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience in PCU, stepdown, DOU, IMC, or a similar high-acuity setting
• Active Registered Nurse license; compact or North Carolina license accepted, pending status may be considered for submission
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Strong experience with arterial lines and titrating vasoactive drips
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Experience with IV starts and conscious sedation
• Comfort working in a unit that functions with an ICU-like level of acuity
• Ability to work every other weekend and float when needed
• Willingness to complete required testing and onboarding steps prior to start

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics, and other complex medical or post-operative needs
• Monitor telemetry and respond appropriately to changes in rhythm, condition, or clinical status
• Manage arterial lines, central lines, peripheral access, and vasoactive drip titration within unit guidelines
• Support patients receiving treatments such as BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, chest tubes, and tracheostomy care
• Administer medications and blood products safely while following established protocols
• Collaborate with rapid response and interdisciplinary teams to deliver timely, effective care
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record
• Adapt quickly to patient needs in a busy, high-acuity stepdown environment
