- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 - $2,130
- Patient Ratio: 4:1
- Schedule Notes: Every other weekend or equivalent based on staffing needs
- Unit Highlights: 20-bed PCU with GE cardiac monitoring, Hospira IV pumps, and Expanse EMR
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of hospital nursing experience required
- At least 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or step-down experience required
- Active compact RN license at time of submission
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Strong dysrhythmia recognition skills
- Critical drip experience required
- Self-directed, confident, positive, and a strong team player
- Comfortable adapting to changing patient volume and unit needs
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care for progressive care and step-down patients
- Monitor and assess patients requiring close clinical observation
- Recognize and respond to dysrhythmias and other changes in patient condition
- Manage critical drips and support patients with complex cardiac needs
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to deliver safe, efficient care
- Float as needed to Med Surg, ICU for border patients, and the Emergency Department for ED holds
- Maintain professional communication and a strong team-centered approach
- Follow unit guidelines, policies, and orientation practices
