Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse license
  • Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU experience
  • ACLS certification required
  • BLS certification required
  • NIHSS certification required
  • Experience with EPIC EMR required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Strong critical care skills and confidence managing high-acuity cardiovascular patients

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, high-quality care for adult CVICU patients with complex cardiac and cardiothoracic conditions
  • Monitor hemodynamics and respond appropriately to changes in patient status
  • Manage advanced therapies and critical care devices such as ventilators, CRRT, ECMO, IABP, Impella, VAD, and PA catheters as trained and competent
  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary team members to support optimal patient outcomes
  • Administer medications, titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, and support post-operative recovery
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate clearly with the care team
  • Adapt to unit needs, including weekend coverage and floating to other qualified areas when needed
