Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with compact license in hand at submission
- At least 1 year of recent PCU, stepdown, telemetry, or similar acute care experience required
- Strong experience titrating and managing cardiac drips required
- Experience managing vasoactive drips required
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Experience with Epic charting required
- Ability to care for patients with CHF, Afib RVR, chest pain, post-cardiac cath, and other telemetry-related diagnoses
- Comfort with a patient ratio of approximately 4-5 patients
- Willingness to float when needed and work every other weekend
PCU RN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate care to stepdown and PCU patients with complex cardiac and medical needs
- Monitor telemetry, recognize rhythm changes, and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Titrate and manage cardiac and vasoactive drips according to unit protocols and provider orders
- Administer medications, perform assessments, and coordinate care for patients with acute and chronic conditions
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support timely treatment and discharge planning
- Use Epic to document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately and efficiently
- Support high-quality patient outcomes while maintaining a calm, organized approach in a dynamic clinical setting
