Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with compact license in hand at submission
• At least 1 year of recent PCU, stepdown, telemetry, or similar acute care experience required
• Strong experience titrating and managing cardiac drips required
• Experience managing vasoactive drips required
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience with Epic charting required
• Ability to care for patients with CHF, Afib RVR, chest pain, post-cardiac cath, and other telemetry-related diagnoses
• Comfort with a patient ratio of approximately 4-5 patients
• Willingness to float when needed and work every other weekend

PCU RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care to stepdown and PCU patients with complex cardiac and medical needs
• Monitor telemetry, recognize rhythm changes, and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Titrate and manage cardiac and vasoactive drips according to unit protocols and provider orders
• Administer medications, perform assessments, and coordinate care for patients with acute and chronic conditions
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support timely treatment and discharge planning
• Use Epic to document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately and efficiently
• Support high-quality patient outcomes while maintaining a calm, organized approach in a dynamic clinical setting
