• Schedule Expectations: Every other weekend and holidays in rotation; travelers may be asked to float as needed

Job Requirements

• 36 months of Registered Nurse (RN) experience required, including at least 1 year in an ICU setting
• Prior CVICU experience strongly preferred
• Previous successful travel nursing assignment preferred
• Comfort caring for 1-3 ICU patients at a time
• Experience managing ventilated patients and interpreting telemetry strips
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale
• BSN preferred
• TNCC and additional advanced critical care certifications preferred
• Experience with Meditech preferred
• Strong teamwork, communication, and bedside handoff skills

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care to critically ill cardiovascular and neuro patients
• Monitor complex hemodynamic status and respond appropriately to changes in condition
• Care for patients recovering from CABG, Impella placement, balloon pump support, Swan-Ganz monitoring, and other advanced cardiac procedures
• Support neuro ICU-level needs, including patients with EVDs, bolts, and induced hypothermia protocols
• Assist with CRRT, phlebotomy, and respiratory treatments such as inhalers and nebulizers when indicated
• Perform thorough bedside shift reports for every transfer of care
• Document accurately in the electronic medical record and maintain strong clinical communication
• Float to related units such as the ED or PCU when needed to support patient care
• Contribute to a collaborative critical care team focused on quality, safety, and excellent patient outcomes
