Job Details
- Position: ICU Registered Nurse
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,620–$1,710
- Setting: ICU stepdown / intermediate care / progressive care unit
- Start Date: October 5, 2026
- Location: Winston-Salem, NC 27103
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Weekend Commitment: Every other weekend
- Float Requirement: Floating may be required to a sister unit
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of ICU, stepdown, intermediate care, or progressive care nursing experience
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or a Compact state; pending license may be considered for submission
- Active ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Strong experience with arterial lines and titration of vasoactive drips
- Telemetry monitoring experience and dysrhythmia interpretation skills
- Experience with IV starts and conscious sedation
- Ability to manage central lines, PICC lines, peripheral lines, and blood product administration
- Comfort with respiratory support therapies including BiPAP, CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care
- Must be open to floating as needed
- Willingness to pass required pre-start testing and complete onboarding modules
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality critical care nursing for patients with respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics, post-rapid response needs, and other complex conditions
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond quickly to changes in patient status
- Administer and titrate selected vasoactive and cardiac drips per unit protocols
- Manage arterial lines, central venous access, PICCs, chest tubes, and tracheostomy care
- Support patients receiving telemetry monitoring, IV insulin protocols, and blood products
- Collaborate with rapid response, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and interdisciplinary care teams
- Deliver safe, efficient nursing care with strong attention to detail in a fast-paced hospital environment
- Adapt to the needs of adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations
