Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,400 - $2,530
• Location: Peoria, IL 61637
• Unit: Labor & Delivery
• Setting: Acute care, high-risk obstetric environment
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Contract Length: 15 weeks
• Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
• Orientation: Approximately 3 shifts
• Charting System: Epic
• Floating: May float to Postpartum and Antepartum units

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience preferred
• Experience caring for high-risk obstetric patients
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
• Advanced AWHONN Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification required
• Ability to manage Pitocin, Magnesium, and Insulin drips
• Proficiency with vaginal delivery, cesarean delivery, and newborn care
• Ability to circulate in the OR for cesarean sections and recover patients in PACU
• Comfortable using electronic fetal monitoring systems
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to laboring, delivery, and postpartum patients
• Monitor and support high-risk pregnancies, including patients on titratable drips
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, cerclage placement, and newborn stabilization
• Circulate cesarean sections in the OR and recover patients in PACU as needed
• Care for patients in L&D triage, postpartum, and antepartum settings when floated
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and support a smooth, coordinated workflow
• Collaborate closely with the care team to promote excellent maternal and newborn outcomes
• Deliver patient-centered education and support throughout the childbirth experience
