Job Details
- Position: Pediatric Registered Nurse
- Employment Type: Travel RN / Travel Nurse
- Setting: Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool
- Location: Portland, Oregon
- Start Date: 11/3/2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Schedule: 3 x 12-hour day shifts
- Shift Duration: 12-hour days
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,360 - $2,480
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Coverage: Required
- Floating: Required to float within pediatric critical care areas, including PICU and NICU
- Holiday Commitment: Must be available to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays
- Charting System: Epic
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required
- Experience in pediatric critical care, pediatric ICU, NICU, or other high-acuity pediatric settings required
- Current BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required
- Epic experience required
- Ability to care for pediatric, neonatal, and adolescent patients
- Comfort working in a float pool and adapting to different unit needs
- Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and communication skills
- Experience with ventilated patients, hemodynamic monitoring, and pediatric medication administration preferred
- First-time travelers welcome
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, compassionate pediatric nursing care to patients with a range of acuity levels
- Float between assigned units, including critical care areas such as PICU and NICU
- Monitor patient condition closely and respond appropriately to changes in status
- Administer medications, blood products, and specialized pediatric treatments
- Provide ventilator, hemodynamic, and neurological monitoring support as needed
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, and the broader care team to support patient outcomes
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately in Epic
- Support families with professional, family-centered care in a high-acuity environment
