This is a 13-week travel nursing opportunity on a busy medical-surgical telemetry unit with 36 guaranteed hours per week. The schedule is primarily 12-hour day shifts, with every-other-weekend expectations and a rotating holiday schedule. • Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,090 - $2,200
• Charting System: EPIC
• Care Setting: Acute care hospital
• Float Requirement: Float to like units only; higher-acuity floats would function as help without a patient assignment
• Orientation: Unit orientation provided on the first shift

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 1 year of nursing experience, with medical-surgical and/or surgical experience required
• EPIC experience required
• Current BLS certification
• Current NIHSS certification
• Experience with total joint patients preferred
• Comfort with telemetry interpretation and reading strips independently
• Experience managing heparin drips and protocol-based titration
• Strong familiarity with PCA pumps, reversal agents, TPN/lipids, narcotic use, and sepsis management
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with heavy patient volume
• Ability to work rotating holidays and every other weekend

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care to Med/Surg Telemetry patients in an acute-care setting
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions using EPIC EMR
• Interpret telemetry strips and respond appropriately to changes in patient status
• Administer medications and manage therapies including heparin drips per protocol
• Care for a variety of post-op and medical-surgical patients, including orthopedic, neuro, vascular, and abdominal cases
• Support patients with PCA pumps, TPN, lipids, IV antibiotics, and related treatments
• Collaborate with charge nurses, CNAs, tele techs, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver quality patient care
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and rapid changes in patient census
• Maintain a team-oriented approach while prioritizing patient safety, efficiency, and clinical excellence
