We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Telemetry Registered Nurse for a travel nursing assignment in Galesburg, Illinois. In this acute care setting, you’ll support a busy Tele Intermediate/Stepdown unit while caring for patients with a variety of cardiac and respiratory needs.

• Assignment Length: 15 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
• Charting System: EPIC
• Patient Ratio: 1:4 to 1:5
• Floating: Travelers may be expected to float within the same general ratio
• Orientation: Hospital and unit orientation included

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in Illinois, or proof that the application process has been initiated
• At least 1 year of recent RN experience preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Telemetry nursing, stepdown, or progressive care experience strongly preferred
• Experience caring for patients with CHF, atrial fibrillation with RVR, syncope, tachy/brady syndromes, and respiratory illnesses
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and meet weekend/holiday requirements
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced acute care environment with floating expectations
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to telemetry and stepdown patients in an acute care hospital setting
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and patient status changes
• Administer medications and therapies as ordered, including cardiac and respiratory support interventions
• Care for patients requiring treatments such as Cardizem, Lasix, renal dopamine, nitroglycerin, BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow support as appropriate
• Collaborate with hospitalists, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy support
• Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC and communicate patient updates effectively
• Support safe patient flow while maintaining appropriate ratios and unit standards
• Contribute to a positive, team-oriented care environment focused on excellent patient outcomes
