Join a fast-paced surgical telemetry unit in Asheville, North Carolina, where you’ll provide high-quality care to a diverse adult patient population in a collaborative, energetic environment. This 13-week travel nursing assignment offers the opportunity to work in one of Western North Carolina’s most scenic and vibrant cities, known for its mountain views, outdoor recreation, and lively downtown atmosphere.

• Position: Telemetry Registered Nurse (Travel RN)
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Contract
• Location: Asheville, NC 28801
• Start Date: 10/5/2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
• Weekend Rotation: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,800–$1,890
• Setting: Surgical telemetry / med-surg environment
• Floating: Other med-surg areas as needed

Job Requirements

• Active RN license required
• No minimum years of recent registered nurse experience required
• Telemetry nursing competency required
• BLS certification required
• Telemetry certification required
• Ability to manage 6–7 patients depending on the shift
• Experience with urology and bowel patient populations strongly preferred
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-energy acute care setting
• Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
• Cerner experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care to adult telemetry and post-operative patients
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient status
• Care for patients with TPN, PCA, wound vacs, tube feeds, drains, and urinary catheters
• Administer IV antibiotics, manage heparin drips, and support complex medication regimens
• Care for patients recovering from general surgery, urology, bowel, and other surgical procedures
• Collaborate closely with the charge nurse, providers, CNAs, and unit secretary to coordinate care
• Maintain a safe, organized, and patient-centered care environment
• Deliver compassionate bedside care while helping patients progress toward recovery
