Job Details
- Position: Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse (PCU RN)
- Employment Type: Travel Nurse Assignment
- Location: Arlington, TX 76015
- Healthcare Setting: Progressive Cardiac Care Unit / Step-Down Unit
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,460-$1,540 per week
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: September 22, 2026
- Floating: Within scope of practice
- On-Call Requirement: None
Job Requirements
- Active RN license
- At least 1 year of recent experience in ICU, PCU, telemetry, step-down, or a similar acute care setting
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Experience with cardiac monitoring and progressive care patient populations preferred
- Comfort working in a flexible, fast-moving travel nursing environment
- Strong communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills
- PCCN, TNCC, or TCAR certifications are a plus
- Precepting experience is preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care for progressive care, telemetry, and step-down patients
- Monitor and assess patients with cardiac and medical-surgical needs
- Administer medications and perform nursing interventions according to care plans
- Manage common unit procedures such as Foley and NGT insertions
- Deliver wound care and support ongoing patient recovery
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members
- Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately
- Support a positive team culture while adapting to unit needs
