• Setting: Progressive Care / Stepdown Observation Unit
• Location: Springfield, Ohio
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Job
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Schedule: Every 3rd weekend and every other holiday
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 - $1,890
• Start Date: 10/5/2026
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
• Unit Environment: 10-bed observation unit with a focus on dysrhythmia management, neuro care, and close patient monitoring

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of assignment or compact state eligibility
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required; progressive care and stepdown experience preferred
• BLS required
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire
• NIH Stroke Certification preferred
• Experience with dysrhythmia management strongly preferred
• Neuro experience preferred
• Ability to perform focused assessments and respond quickly to changing patient conditions
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and documentation skills
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, patient-centered healthcare environment

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in a Progressive Care / Stepdown / Observation setting
• Perform ongoing assessments and conduct neuro checks, including NIHSS scoring
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and support patients with dysrhythmia-related needs
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered while monitoring for response and side effects
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to determine appropriate next steps in care
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
• Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner
• Maintain a safe, organized, and compassionate care environment for every patient
