• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,960 - $2,070

• Duration: 16 weeks
• Setting: Acute care neuro telemetry unit
• Float: May be required to meet unit needs
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Orientation: 36-40 hours

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Current experience in neuro telemetry, telemetry nursing, or acute care nursing preferred
• Neuro experience required
• Experience with telemetry and post-surgical neurology patients
• Comfortable using the NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Epic charting experience required
• Active RN license required; compact license must be in hand at submission
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Experience caring for patients with cerebrovascular and neurosurgical diagnoses preferred
• Ability to work with patient ratios around 1:5
• Must be willing to work 3 of the 5 major holidays
• Two professional references covering at least 1 year of recent experience required

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult telemetry and neuro patients in an acute care environment
• Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in neurological and cardiac status
• Care for post-operative neurology patients and patients with complex neuro diagnoses
• Perform telemetry monitoring and manage dysrhythmias as needed
• Use the NIH Stroke Scale to evaluate and track neurological changes
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support safe, effective patient care
• Document patient care accurately in Epic electronic health records
• Support unit flow by adapting to float needs when required
• Maintain a patient-centered approach in a fast-paced acute care setting
