Travel ICU Registered Nurse - Neuro ICU in New Haven, Connecticut

Travel ICU RN opportunity in a high-acuity Neuro ICU in New Haven, CT. Join a fast-paced critical care team, care for complex neuro patients, and put your ICU nursing skills to work in a 13-week travel nursing assignment.

  • Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
  • Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 07:00 - 19:00
  • Shift Duration: 12 hours
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,980 - $2,080
  • Patient Ratio: 1:2 on days and nights
  • Orientation: 24 hours
  • Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
  • Floating: Required within ICU and PCU as needed
  • Charting System: Epic

Job Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU or Neuro ICU experience required
  • NIHSS, ACLS, and BLS certifications required
  • Experience caring for ventilated patients and managing arterial lines and central lines
  • Strong knowledge of dysrhythmia interpretation, stroke care, and neuro critical care protocols
  • Ability to support high-acuity adult and geriatric patients
  • Open to floating within scope to meet facility needs
  • Pending state license accepted with appropriate timing for issuance

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, compassionate, evidence-based care to neuro critical care patients
  • Monitor and manage patients with stroke, post-craniotomy, and neuro trauma diagnoses
  • Perform and assist with Neuro ICU procedures, including EVD placements, arterial and central line placements, intubation, and lumbar taps
  • Assess patients frequently and respond quickly to changes in neurological or hemodynamic status
  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary team members to support optimal patient outcomes
  • Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and communicate effectively with the care team
  • Follow infection prevention, safety, and unit-specific protocols at all times
