• Start Date: 10/13/2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,820 - $1,910
• Orientation: 8 hours
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
• Floating: May float within scope, including stepdown and other non-ICU units as needed
• Charting System: Epic preferred

Job Requirements

• Active Virginia RN license or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years of recent registered nursing experience, preferably in ICU, Surgical ICU, or high-acuity acute care
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience in a community hospital and Level II Trauma Center preferred
• Strong skills in dysrhythmia interpretation, arterial line management, and blood product administration
• Experience caring for ventilated patients, CRRT, vasoactive drips, and complex surgical and trauma cases
• Flu vaccine required
• Ability to adapt to changing assignments, patient acuity, and interdisciplinary care needs

Responsibilities

• Provide expert bedside care for critically ill surgical, trauma, and cardiovascular patients in the SICU
• Monitor and manage patients with complex diagnoses such as sepsis, respiratory failure, GI bleeding, DKA, multisystem organ failure, and post-operative recovery
• Interpret and respond to dysrhythmias, ABGs, hemodynamic data, and changes in patient condition
• Manage arterial lines, central lines, ventilators, CRRT, and blood product administration
• Support patients requiring advanced ICU interventions including sedation, vasoactive drips, and neurological monitoring
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and other interdisciplinary care partners
• Float as needed within scope to support patient care across the facility
• Deliver safe, compassionate, and high-quality critical care nursing in a fast-paced environment
