Travel ICU RN Overview

We are seeking an experienced ICU RN to provide high-quality, patient-centered care for a diverse adult patient population. In this Maryland healthcare opportunity, you will work with advanced critical care technology, manage challenging diagnoses, and support patients across medical, surgical, trauma, cardiovascular, stroke, and neuro ICU care pathways.

• Shift Duration: 12 hours
• Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed hours
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910 - $2,010
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: May float within scope to IMC
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Charting System: Epic experience required
• Patient Ratios: 1:2

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required; 3 years preferred
• Prior travel nurse experience required
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Strong experience managing critically ill cardiac, neuro, stroke, trauma, and surgical patients
• Epic charting experience required
• Comfort working nights, weekends, and occasional holidays
• Ability to float within clinical scope as needed
• COVID-19 and flu vaccination required without exemptions

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, skilled nursing care to critically ill adult patients in a busy ICU setting
• Monitor and manage complex patient conditions, including trauma, cardiovascular, stroke, and neuro diagnoses
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips, vasoactive medications, sedation, insulin protocols, and paralytics as ordered
• Provide care for ventilated patients and support advanced respiratory interventions such as BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula
• Manage arterial lines, central lines, ports, chest tubes, and other critical care devices
• Assist with CRRT, IABP support, EVD management, and other advanced ICU therapies
• Perform frequent assessments, recognize changes in condition, and respond quickly to urgent clinical needs
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and other interdisciplinary partners
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with facility protocols and evidence-based best practices
