Job Details

• Location: San Antonio, TX 78229
• Setting: Cardiovascular ICU / Critical Care / Intensive Care Unit
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: 9/16/2026
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,460 - $1,540
• Float Areas: Pediatric and neonatal inpatient areas, emergency inpatient holds, and cardiac pediatric ICU as needed
• Schedule Note: Every other weekend required

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of recent critical care or ICU nursing experience
• Experience caring for intubated and ventilated patients
• Strong background in intensive care patient care
• Current PALS certification required
• Ability to work confidently in a fast-paced, high-acuity nursing job environment
• Flexible, team-oriented, and comfortable adapting to changing patient needs
• Clear communication skills and a positive, professional attitude

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients requiring intensive monitoring and support
• Manage and assess patients receiving ventilator support, drips, chest tubes, central lines, syringe pumps, trachs, and G-tubes
• Collaborate closely with the medical team to deliver safe, high-quality patient care
• Monitor patient status and respond appropriately to changes in condition
• Assist with procedures such as sedation support, lumbar punctures, and intubation as needed
• Support continuity of care across assigned floating areas when required
• Follow unit policies and maintain a professional, compassionate approach in all interactions
