- Setting: Acute care hospital, adult inpatient unit
- Start Date: 10/19/2026
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
- Floating: May float as needed within scope
- Charting System: Cerner preferred
Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of recent nursing experience required
- Active Illinois RN license required at time of submission
- BLS and NIHSS required
- ACLS preferred
- Travel nursing experience required
- Experience in telemetry, cardiac stepdown, PCU, intermediate care, or IMC strongly preferred
- Comfort with high-acuity cardiac and neuro patient populations
- Ability to work nights and every other weekend
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate care to adult stepdown, PCU, and telemetry patients
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and recognize changes in patient condition quickly
- Manage patients recovering from cardiac procedures, MI, and related interventions
- Support patients with neuro, respiratory, renal, and other complex medical needs as assigned
- Administer medications and IV therapies in accordance with facility protocols
- Collaborate with rapid response, respiratory therapy, and interdisciplinary care teams
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with the care team
- Adapt to a fast-paced acute care environment with strong patient throughput and varied diagnoses
- Float within scope to support facility needs when required
