• Position: Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse (PCU RN)
• Location: Chattanooga, TN 37404
• Setting: Progressive Care Unit / Step-Down Unit
• Schedule: 12-hour day shifts
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,550 - $1,630
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: 10/19/2026
• Unit Size: 29 beds
• Patient Ratio: 4:1
• Schedule Highlights: Self-scheduling available within reason, with schedules finalized in advance
• Technology: Meditech and mobile device support for charting and communication

Job Requirements

• Active RN license
• At least 1 year of PCU, telemetry, cardiac, or critical care nursing experience required
• BLS and ACLS required
• Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry monitoring skills
• Ability to manage complex intermediate-acuity and step-down patients
• Experience with IV insertion, EKGs, Foley management, chest tube care, CVC management, and tracheostomy care preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative healthcare environment
• Travel RN experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care to medical, cardiac, and surgical PCU patients
• Monitor and manage patients with conditions such as sepsis, stroke, MI, heart failure, arrhythmias, respiratory failure, GI bleed, and post-operative cardiac cases
• Perform frequent head-to-toe assessments and document findings accurately
• Titrate and manage common PCU drips as ordered, including cardiac and vasoactive medications
• Support procedures such as IV insertion, wound care, DHT/NG placement, Foley placement, patient ambulation, and early mobility
• Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team to promote high-quality patient outcomes
• Float as needed according to unit policy
• Maintain a professional, team-focused approach while delivering excellent bedside nursing care
