• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Scheduling Style: Self-scheduling with 4-week schedules

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 1 year of recent acute care, telemetry, or PCU nursing experience required
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and time management skills
• Experience interpreting EKG rhythms and monitoring telemetry patients
• Experience with cardiac drips, insulin drips, and heparin drips
• Experience with BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and other oxygen delivery systems
• Peritoneal dialysis experience preferred
• Peripheral IV insertion and maintenance skills preferred
• Experience with stroke care and post-cardiac cath recovery preferred
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented healthcare environment

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care for progressive care and step-down patients with varied medical needs
• Monitor patient status, assess changes, and respond promptly to clinical concerns
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and manage patients on cardiac, insulin, and heparin drips
• Support patients requiring BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and other respiratory therapies
• Assist with peritoneal dialysis, tube feedings, and NG/Dobhoff tube care
• Perform and support procedures including thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertions, and central line dressing changes
• Troubleshoot wound vacs in coordination with the interdisciplinary care team
• Complete hourly rounding on day shifts and every 2-hour rounding on night shifts
• Communicate effectively to promote patient safety, comfort, and positive outcomes
• Float between PCU units or to med-surg floors as needed
• Contribute to a culture of teamwork, compassionate care, and patient-centered service
