Travel Med-Surg Registered Nurse – Albuquerque, NM

Job Details

• Position: Travel Med/Surg Registered Nurse
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing
• Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Shifts Per Week: 3 shifts per week
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,460 - $1,540
• Schedule: Weekend coverage required; floating within scope as needed
• Unit Size: 30 beds
• Patient Census: Approximately 24 patients daily
• Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
• Charting System: Epic experience required

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license eligible for New Mexico or compact licensure prior to start
• At least 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required; 2 years preferred
• BLS certification required
• Epic charting experience required
• Ability to provide care for adult and geriatric medical-surgical patients
• Comfort with a patient ratio of approximately 1:6
• Strong adaptability and willingness to float to like units within scope
• Travel nursing experience is welcome, and first-time travelers may be considered

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate medical-surgical nursing care on a night shift schedule
• Monitor patient status, administer medications, and support individualized treatment plans
• Manage common med/surg interventions including IV therapy, oxygen support, wound care, and telemetry monitoring
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support patient recovery and discharge planning
• Document patient care accurately in Epic and maintain high standards of charting
• Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately
• Support a smooth, team-oriented environment while adapting to unit needs
