Overview

This night shift Mother/Baby Registered Nurse position focuses on postpartum nursing and couplet care. The unit offers a steady patient flow, a team-oriented environment, and the chance to build experience in a respected women’s health and maternal-newborn care setting. First-time travelers are welcome, and the role includes floating within like units as needed.

• Location: Albuquerque, NM 87109
• Schedule: Night 4x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,580 - $1,660
• Orientation: Onsite orientation provided
• Floating: Required within like units as needed
• Weekend Coverage: Required

Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of RN experience required; 2 years of Mother/Baby, postpartum, or related women’s health experience preferred
• Active Registered Nurse license
• BLS certification required
• NRP certification required
• Experience with postpartum, couplet care, and newborn care preferred
• Comfort working with newborns, infants, and adult postpartum patients
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Strong teamwork, communication, and patient education skills
• Ability to adapt to float assignments within scope

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care to postpartum mothers and newborns
• Perform newborn assessments, postpartum assessments, and ongoing patient monitoring
• Support breastfeeding education, newborn care teaching, and discharge instructions for families
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and ordered treatments as appropriate
• Assist with routine postpartum procedures and patient recovery needs
• Monitor for common postpartum conditions and respond appropriately to changes in status
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, social services, and phlebotomy to support patient care
• Float to like units within the service area when needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and promote a positive patient experience
