- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,890 - $1,990
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Weekend Coverage: Required
- Schedule Type: Self-scheduling
- Patient Ratios: 2:1 days, 3:1 nights, 1:2 or 1:3 on weekends depending on acuity
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred, with willingness to charge when needed
- Ventilator experience required
- Current BLS and PALS certifications required
- Epic experience required
- Experience with tracheostomy care, ventilator management, dialysis, ICP monitoring, or EVD preferred
- Strong clinical judgment and comfort caring for complex pediatric patients
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care in a pediatric intermediate care setting
- Care for a diverse patient population, including neonates, infants, children, and adolescents with complex diagnoses
- Monitor and manage patients with ventilators, tracheostomies, dialysis needs, and external ventricular devices
- Support post-operative, neurological, respiratory, cardiac, and surgical patient care needs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote safe, efficient, family-centered care
- Step into charge nurse responsibilities on select shifts as needed
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow established safety standards
- Contribute to a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning
